How Geothermal Technology Works

The earth naturally absorbs and stores heat energy. In fact, below the frost line, the earth's temperature is a constant 50 to 55 degrees. Geothermal systems use a water and anti-freeze solution to extract heat from the earth. This solution is then pumped through a closed loop piping system which is buried in the ground and connected to a heat pump heat exchanger in your home. In the summer, the process is reversed, to extract the heat from your home and transfer it to the earth through the same piping system.

Benefits:

Low Operating Costs

Geothermal systems provide the lowest operating costs of any heating and cooling system on the market today!

Low-Cost Hot Water is Built In

Geothermal systems include a hot water generator which diverts a portion of the supplied heat to your domestic water heater, providing substantial savings on hot water production.

Flexible Installation

Your geothermal heating system is located entirely in your home and can be placed just about anywhere - attic, basement or even a closet.

No Weather Extremes

Since your geothermal system is installed inside, the system doesn't need to withstand the elements like rain, snow or extreme temperatures, so the unit lasts longer than many standard air conditioning systems that are installed outdoors.
