There are some things you can do to ensure that your ventilation and cooling system operates efficiently and reliably.
Proper air circulation is essential to efficient cooling mechanism operation. Always keep obstructions like drapes and furniture away from registers.
High/low return air grilles should be adjusted from season to season. During the winter, open the bottom grille and close the top (to draw cool air from the floor). During the summer, close the bottom grille and open the top (to draw warm air from the ceiling).
For maximum air conditioning efficiency, maintain a temperature of 74-78 degrees, rather than constantly adjusting the thermostat. The best way to accomplish money-saving temperature regulation is with a programmable thermostat.
If your air conditioner’s indoor or outdoor coil is frozen, you may have a dirty air filter or low refrigerant level. Clean or replace your filter. If that doesn’t solve the problem, call Groff’s to check the refrigerant pressure and refill it as needed. We can also find leaks and make repairs while we’re there.
